Hailing from San Francisco, CA, Madeline is an award-winning filmmaker and a freelance director based in Los Angeles, California. She earned her MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2016, and she enjoys telling female-driven stories that inspire conversations about social change. As a commercial director, her speciality is selling athletic products to women. She ran four years of D1 varsity cross-country through college, and distance running remains a huge part of her life. Her filmmaking sensibilities have been influenced by films like A League of Their Own, Million Dollar Baby, and I, Tonya. She seeks to empower women in athletics, and would love to spend her career directing female-driven sports films and TV shows. Madeline Rozwat is also passionate about directing music videos and enjoys collaborating closely with musical artists. She works side by side with an artist from start to finish.
Her short films have played at festivals all around the world and have earned her Best Director awards at the Directors Circle Festival, Maverick Movie Awards, and the Festigious Film Festival. Whenever she sits down to write, she thinks about what voices might lend unique perspectives that the audience might not otherwise have considered. It is Madeline’s hope that by bringing subordinated viewpoints to life and exploring the complexities of their worlds, the audience might walk away thinking a little differently about their own world. When Madeline isn’t busy running beautiful trails, going on hikes, taking photos, or goofing around with her dog, she can be found in a cozy coffee shop writing her next script.
